In morning, participants will be transported by van to a local café in the Mekong Delta, where their bikes will be prepared and ready. After a brief orientation at the café, we will set off on our cycling journey. About 70% of today’s ride will be pleasantly shaded by coconut trees, allowing riders to traverse a series of small canal bridges while soaking in the vibrant greenery of the region. This scenic route will lead us to a factory specializing in coconut by-products. Following lunch, the adventure continues as we ride through picturesque delta homes and villages, transitioning from coconut fields. The routes are primarily flat and paved, offering a smooth cycling experience, though there will be some narrow sections through coconut plantations for those seeking a little challenge. Our day will conclude in Tra Vinh City, where we’ll unwind before gathering for a community dinner and a delightful evening of exploration.
Biking: 50km
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Tinh Uy Guest House or a similar hotel
While first day of our journey showcased the Coconut Kingdom, today we’ll shift our focus to the scenic rice paddies that dominate the landscape. In the morning, we’ll cycle a short distance to Ba Om Pond, an exquisite example of Khmer architecture that is around 800 years old, where we can admire the beautiful seasonal lotus flowers. Following this, we’ll spend the rest of the morning cycling through flatlands adjacent to rice fields and canals, as this area is celebrated for being Vietnam's second-largest rice producer. In the afternoon, we’ll transfer by van to Can Tho city, where we can enjoy the vibrant nightlife and take in the breathtaking rooftop views from central restaurants. Don’t forget to explore the famous night markets that Can Tho has to offer!
Biking: 60km
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Muong Thanh Luxury Hotel (superior room) or a similar hotel
After, before 7 AM, more exciting adventures await! Our day will be split into two segments: exploring the waterways in the morning and the countryside in the afternoon. We will depart from Can Tho and take a boat ride to the renowned Cai Rang floating market, which will take approximately 60 minutes.
Upon arrival at the floating market, we'll have time to roam the area and shop from various vendors. Following the boat tour, we'll cycle along the river on quiet, paved roads, enjoying views of the region's fruit gardens nestled beside the countryside trails. As we progress, the shaded riverside paths will open up to the expansive rice fields we encountered on day three. During this tranquil ride, we’ll often find ourselves alone for kilometres, providing an excellent opportunity to reflect on the beauty of solitude and community. Our final stop will be the Bang Lang Stork Sanctuary. Riders will then have the option to either continue cycling or take a van transfer for the remaining distance to Long Xuyen City.
Biking: 60km
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Hoa Binh 01 Long Xuyen Hotel (superior room) or a similar hotel
After a hearty and flavorful local breakfast, we’ll take a 30-minute transfer via our private shuttle to the starting point of our biking adventure. Once we arrive, we’ll set off on a 55 km journey to the Tra Su National Reserve and Bird Sanctuary. Due to frequent flooding in the farmland along the route, most of our biking will take place on elevated, reinforced pathways above the fields. We should arrive at Tra Su in the early afternoon, when the majority of tourists have already departed. Here, you'll have the opportunity to walk along a floating bridge surrounded by vibrant algae, and you can also join guided boat tours to explore the shaded canals of the reserve. After this relaxing experience, lunch will be served before we continue our biking journey for a 25 km segment to our overnight destination in Chau Doc City. If you prefer, an air-conditioned van is available for transfer, allowing you to take a break and enjoy the scenery.

You say goodbye to our team before beginning your final day. Enjoy a well-deserved break for your legs as you check out of your accommodation and have breakfast at 6:30 AM. Around 1 PM, the boat will arrive at the Phnom Penh boat pier, where you'll meet your local guide and transfer for lunch. After enjoying your meal, you’ll check in at the hotel. Once there, we’ll prepare to ride our bikes and take a local ferry to cross the Mekong River, heading towards Koh Dach and Koh Ouknha Tey, collectively known as Silk Island. Throughout this journey, our guide will make several stops to explore local farms, observe daily activities, and learn about the silk production process. Afterward, we’ll cross the ferry again to the other side of the Mekong River, where we’ll ride along the riverside, passing by various farms, pagodas, and schools. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant where our ride will conclude for the day. Following lunch, we’ll transfer by support vehicle to Kampong Thom City for dinner and an overnight stay.

Along the way, we'll visit a local school and pagoda, and the route is lined with stilted houses and lush rice paddies. Our journey will lead us to Sambor Prei Kuk, a complex of temples dating back to the 6th century, which was once an ancient capital of Cambodia.
After exploring this historical site, we’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before transferring to Siem Reap for check-in at the hotel. You’ll have the rest of the afternoon to relax at your leisure. Dinner will be on your own, allowing you to explore the local dining options.

We start at 5:30 AM, biking with headlights for a 7 km ride to the parking area. Then, we’ll walk to the main entrance and settle near one of the temple’s libraries to watch the sunrise behind the iconic towers. This breathtaking moment unfolds gradually as the sky brightens, creating an unforgettable backdrop. After capturing photos with our guide, we’ll enjoy a picnic breakfast at the temple site.
Following breakfast, our knowledgeable guide will provide insights into the history and symbolism of Angkor Wat as we explore its intricate architecture, including a visit to the temple's upper level for panoramic views. Next, we’ll bike along the walls of Angkor Thom City to the Bayon Temple, famous for its enigmatic stone faces that reflect the compassion of the Avalokiteshvara, a key figure in Mahayana Buddhism. The temple's intricate bas-reliefs depict scenes from daily life and historical events, showcasing the artistry of the Khmer Empire. Continuing our journey, we’ll ride to Neak Pean, an 12th-century temple built on an artificial island, featuring a central pond surrounded by four smaller ponds.
It is believed to symbolize the four elements: earth, water, fire, and wind, illustrating the Khmer ideal of balance and harmony in nature. In the afternoon, we’ll visit Ta Prohm Temple, renowned for the massive trees that intertwine with the ruins, creating an enchanting atmosphere. The temple was intentionally left largely in its natural state to showcase the power of nature reclaiming the ancient structure, making it a favorite for photography. After exploring these magnificent sites, we’ll bike back to the hotel, finishing around 4 PM. You can then relax by the pool or explore the Old Market and Pub Street, bustling with shops, restaurants, and massage parlors.

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, our friendly tour guide will be ready to lead you on another thrilling day of discovery. We’ll kick off our biking adventure by riding to West Baray Village, where you’ll witness local artisans crafting Kralan, a traditional sticky rice dish cooked in bamboo. Next, we’ll visit the stunning West Baray, an ancient manmade lake from the 11th century, covering an impressive area of 8km by 2.8km, serving as a vital reservoir for today’s agriculture. Our journey continues to Angkor Silk Farm, where you’ll learn about the fascinating process of silk production from farming to the final product. En route to Krobei Riel Village, we’ll stop at a lively Pork Market, sampling grilled chicken, deep-fried crickets, and grasshoppers.
We’ll also visit local artisans smoking fish before arriving at a welcoming stilt house. Here, a local family will guide you through their vegetable garden and teach you to cook three traditional Cambodian dishes during an enjoyable cooking class.
After lunch, we’ll cycle to Tonle Sap Lake for a tranquil boat ride through the floating village, learning about the unique lifestyle of its inhabitants. Posted on Linda WVerified Small agency with a personal touch We have used Merry Travel for two trips now in Cambodia and will use them again for future travel to Southeast Asia. Staff is exceptional. The lovely Sreylin was endlessly patient with my MANY itinerary changes. We spent 8 days here in Cambodia in May and decided to return this January / February for a 45 day trip throughout the country ending with a long stay in Siem Reap. The hotels were exceptional - often held we would never have found on our own. The tours were all incredible and the transport top notch. We have used the always-smiling Vuthy often to guide us with excellent temple vista it’s. Highly recommend this small agency. Cambodia is an amazing land to see by bike!!! Thank you for the good carePosted on MB100BxllsVerified Amazing self-guided bike tour in Cambodia! Just completed an amazing self-guided bespoke ebike tour with Merry Travel/Cambodia bikes. We are both 60 plus regular cyclists who normally travel ourselves, however with little planning time and this being our first visit to the region sought local guidance. So glad we did. The planning, which was initially done through Mr Biker Saigon, as we were doing similar tours in Vietnam, was seamless and provided for a more interesting tour than had we planned it ourselves. We provided a rough 'request list' and timings and they proposed routes incorporating several additional activities including trekking, kayaking and dolphin watching. Routes were provided on Bike with GPS and also a list of accommodation. All of which were in interesting places and local commmunity orientated, which we liked. The routes, which were generally on quiet and always interesting side roads and often gravel tracks - took us through amazing countryside, small villages and finally on a beautiful journey following the Mekong into Phnom Penh. We also had a vehicle which loosely followed us and our driver Makara - himself a cyclist - supported us with everything from transfers, bike maintenance when needed and interpretation. He also found us some nice coffee and food stops!! Overall a fantastic adventure. We loved the space and adventure afforded by self-guiding, but with the excellent backup support provided by Sam at Merry Travel and Makara throughout the journey. Thank-you!Posted on Joanne GVerified Best bike trip ever in Vietnam and Cambodia !!! we had a wonderful trip with Cambodia cycling tour ; Southern Vietnam and then to Siem Reap . A group of friends spent 10 days with Merry travel cycling in Vietnam and Cambodia. It was the best trip I have ever had. We cycled thru neighborhoods in the Mekong delta. Our guide expertly provided insight and info. He was a perfect cycling guide adding a rich cultural experience as well as great biking.Posted on TrevVerified 5 stars out of 5. Everything was perfect. We did a tailor made cycle tour with Merry Travel. From our communication with Sam, through to the actual tour with Zil and 'T', everything was brilliant. Sam listened to what we wanted to do, the sport of places we wanted to stay and organised everything from beginning to end. We didn't want to use tourist style chain hotels, and Sam found wonderful smaller locally run hotels. Perfect for us. Zil, our cycle guide and 'T', our driver couldn't have been better. All the places we stopped for lunch and snacks were just great. Just when we thought we couldn't cycle any further, 'T' appeared out of nowhere with fresh fruit, cold water and cold towels. Absolutely fabulous.
