This 6-day mountain biking journey takes you from the bustling streets of Phnom Penh to ancient cities, coastal paths, and mountain forests. It’s a ride filled with culture, local life, nature, and unforgettable scenery — the perfect MTB adventure in southern Cambodia.
Day 1: Phnom Penh → Ta Keo – Riding Into Cambodia’s Ancient Past
We began the day with a short transfer out of the city before starting our first ride along quiet backroads. Villages came alive with morning routines — children cycling to school, monks chanting from pagodas.
Our day’s highlight was reaching Angkor Borei and exploring Phnom Da, one of Cambodia’s oldest archaeological sites. After soaking in the history, we boarded a boat across the river to Ta Keo, where dinner and a peaceful evening awaited us.
Day 2: Ta Keo → Kep → Kampot – Coastline, Caves & Salt Fields
After breakfast, we continued riding through the countryside toward the limestone caves of Kampong Trach. The terrain flattened as we approached the coast, and soon we found ourselves relaxing at Kep Beach with lunch and a refreshing swim.
The afternoon ride was stunning — coastal views, salt fields stretching across the horizon, and a visit to a pepper plantation before arriving in Kampot.
Day 3: Kampot – Rivers, Villages & Fishing Life
Today’s loop was all about culture and local life. We biked through small villages and farms, watched bamboo weaving, and visited Phnom Chhngok cave temple. Lunch by the Spring Water River gave us time to unwind or take a swim.
In the afternoon, we boarded a local boat to visit a fishing village before cycling back to Kampot town with a final coffee stop overlooking the river.
Day 4: Kampot → Kirirom – Into the Mountains
A short transfer took us to the day’s starting point. The first section passed Buddha Kiri, a small mountain dotted with golden Buddha statues. Soon after, the scenery opened into remote rice fields, palm groves, and mountain views.
The final challenge was the climb up Kirirom Mountain, surrounded by forests and fresh mountain air. We arrived at our lodge in the national park just before sunset.
Day 5: Kirirom → Phnom Penh – Forest Trails & Waterfall Trek
Morning riding through Kirirom National Park offered cool air, pine forests, and sweeping views. After descending the mountain, we stopped for lunch at Chambok Eco Tourism, followed by a short hike to a waterfall.
The last section of riding took us through peaceful countryside before transferring back to Phnom Penh for a farewell dinner by the river.
Day 6: Departure from Phnom Penh
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before saying goodbye. You can extend your adventure with a city tour or a cycling trip to Silk Island — perfect if you want one more ride before heading home.
