After a short transfer of about one hour to the riding start point, your guide will introduce the route, safety briefing, and riding highlights. From here, the real adventure begins as we roll out on our gravel bikes along quiet backroads, weaving through rural villages far from traffic. Ride past rice fields and local homes, observe daily village life, and make meaningful stops at a local school and pagoda along the way.
The route leads us to the ancient city of Nokor Phnom (today known as Angkor Borei), one of Cambodia’s earliest historical centers. After exploring the impressive hilltop temple of Phnom Da, we finish the day in true gravel style—by boat—cruising across the water to Takeo for a well-earned dinner and overnight stay.
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Alice Villa Hotel (standard room)
After breakfast at the hotel, we take a short transfer to the riding start point before rolling out on our gravel bikes into the peaceful countryside. The route winds through rural landscapes to Kampong Trach, where dramatic limestone formations and caves offer a perfect mid-ride stop.
We continue riding toward the coast, arriving at Kep Beach for a well-earned lunch and a refreshing swim in the sea. In the afternoon, the adventure continues with a scenic coastal ride to Kampot, pedaling past endless salt fields and stopping at a local pepper plantation, followed by a relaxed coffee break along the way.

We also visit Phnom Chhngok, home to a historic cave temple nestled in the limestone hills.
Lunch is served at a local restaurant beside the Kampong Spring Water River, where there’s time to cool off with a refreshing swim.
In the afternoon, we continue our ride toward the coast before boarding a local boat to explore a traditional fishing village. Back on land, we cycle through Kampot town, stopping for a relaxed coffee break, then return to the lodge in the late afternoon to unwind and enjoy some well-earned rest.
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

After breakfast at the hotel, we challenge ourselves with an iconic gravel ride to Bokor Hill, located within Bokor National Park—one of Cambodia’s most dramatic and scenic mountain landscapes. We begin riding directly from the hotel, warming up on gently rolling terrain for about 10 km before the sustained climb starts.
The ascent to Bokor Hill is steady and rewarding, passing through cool, misty jungle and dense rainforest, with occasional openings that reveal sweeping views over the Gulf of Thailand. Riders are encouraged to take their time and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and ever-changing scenery as the road winds upward.
At the summit, we visit the hilltop pagoda and the historic Bokor Old Casino, a striking remnant of Cambodia’s colonial past. Here, we enjoy a picnic lunch at the top of the hill, surrounded by fresh mountain air and panoramic views stretching from the coastline to the forests below—a truly memorable reward for the climb.
After lunch, we continue by support vehicle to Sihanoukville.
Upon arrival in Sihanoukville, Cambodia’s vibrant coastal city known for its sandy beaches and island-dotted seascape, we check in at the hotel and have time to relax. In the late afternoon, our guide picks you up for a gentle walk along the beachfront, followed by dinner at a local seaside restaurant, featuring fresh seafood and local flavors.

Accommodation: Novotel Sihanoukville (deluxe room)
After breakfast at the hotel, the day is free at leisure.
You can relax and swim at the hotel or choose an optional excursion to Koh Rong Island, a beautiful tropical paradise known for its white sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and vibrant marine life. The round-trip boat ticket costs USD 25 per person, and transfers from the hotel to the pier are approximately USD 5 per person each way. These optional costs are at your own expense.
Sihanoukville itself is a vibrant beach city, offering a mix of sandy beaches, lively markets, and coastal scenery, making it a perfect place to unwind after your cycling adventure.

After breakfast, we transfer to the riding start point and begin a scenic gravel ride along the coastline, enjoying cool sea breezes and expansive ocean views as we pedal toward Ream National Park. Located between the sea and the Cardamom foothills, Ream National Park is one of Cambodia’s most important protected areas, known for its rich biodiversity, mangrove forests, estuaries, and abundant birdlife.
Upon arrival, we take a short boat ride through the park’s peaceful mangrove channels, where you may spot fishing communities, wading birds, and other wildlife that thrive in this unique ecosystem. Lunch is served after the boat excursion, surrounded by nature.
In the afternoon, we continue riding for another 10 km along quiet coastal and rural roads before meeting our support vehicle for the transfer to Kirirom Hill.
By late afternoon, we arrive at our resort on top of Kirirom, a cool highland plateau often called “Cambodia’s Switzerland.” Part of Kirirom National Park, this area is famous for its pine forests, waterfalls, fresh mountain air, and panoramic views over the Cardamom Mountains and surrounding plains. Check in, relax, and enjoy a peaceful overnight stay in this refreshing mountain environment.

From the plateau, we descend the hill on a scenic ride to Chambok Waterfall, one of the area’s most picturesque natural highlights.
For lunch, we stop at the Chambok Eco-Tourism Community, a local initiative where villagers welcome visitors to experience rural Cambodian life firsthand. Here, you can enjoy a freshly prepared meal using locally grown ingredients, learn about sustainable farming practices, and explore the community’s bamboo workshops, small gardens, and traditional crafts—all while supporting eco-friendly tourism in the region.
After lunch, we continue riding through peaceful villages and countryside, observing daily village life, before meeting our support vehicle for the transfer to our overnight destination.

The scenery is rich with palm trees, rice paddies, and beautiful mountain views along the way. We stop for lunch at Chreav Waterfall, where there is time to relax and enjoy a refreshing swim. After lunch, we continue cycling toward Kampong Chhnang, then transfer by support vehicle to Battambang.
Upon arrival, we are warmly welcomed to Battambang City, known as Cambodia’s second-largest city and its cultural heart, famous for well-preserved French colonial architecture, vibrant arts scene, and relaxed riverside atmosphere. We check in to our hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Accommodation: Classy Hotel (deluxe room)
After breakfast at the hotel, we set off on our gravel bikes directly from the hotel to visit a traditional ancient house, offering insight into Battambang’s rich architectural and cultural heritage. We then continue cycling to the Bamboo Train Station to experience one of Battambang’s most iconic attractions.
The bamboo train, a simple wooden platform powered by a small engine and running on old railway tracks, was originally created by local villagers as a practical means of transportation. Today, it offers a fun and authentic ride through the countryside. We enjoy approximately 45 minutes on the bamboo train, passing rice fields and rural landscapes while learning about its history and local significance.
Afterward, we cycle along the scenic Stung Sangke River, the lifeline of Battambang. Along the riverbanks, we observe daily village life unfold—families making rice paper by hand, distilling traditional rice whisky, preparing banana cakes, tending small gardens, fishing, and socializing in the shade of their stilt houses. This gentle ride provides a close and genuine look into the rhythms of rural Cambodian life.
We stop at a local restaurant for lunch before continuing our ride through quiet villages and vast rice paddies. In the afternoon, we meet our support vehicle for the transfer back to Siem Reap.

Today, we depart the hotel early at 5:00 AM by support vehicle and transfer to the front of Angkor Wat to witness one of the most unforgettable sunrises in the world. As the first light of day slowly rises behind the iconic towers, the silhouette of Angkor Wat is reflected perfectly in the still waters of the ancient moat. In the quiet early morning, surrounded by centuries of history and soft golden light, this magical moment is widely considered a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one of the true highlights of any journey to Cambodia.
After sunrise, we begin our gravel bike ride, cycling to the South Gate of Angkor Thom and exploring the remarkable Bayon Temple, famous for its many serene stone faces. We then continue riding to visit Ta Prohm Temple, where massive tree roots intertwine dramatically with ancient ruins.
A picnic breakfast and hotel coffee will be provided on site.

Posted on Linda WVerified Small agency with a personal touch We have used Merry Travel for two trips now in Cambodia and will use them again for future travel to Southeast Asia. Staff is exceptional. The lovely Sreylin was endlessly patient with my MANY itinerary changes. We spent 8 days here in Cambodia in May and decided to return this January / February for a 45 day trip throughout the country ending with a long stay in Siem Reap. The hotels were exceptional - often held we would never have found on our own. The tours were all incredible and the transport top notch. We have used the always-smiling Vuthy often to guide us with excellent temple vista it’s. Highly recommend this small agency. This wasn't cookie-cutter tourism—it was meaningful travel. Sam from Merry Travel goes above and beyond in ways that truly matter. He works directly with local communities and makes a conscious effort to support Siem Reap's infrastructure and families. Throughout our travels, we felt the deep respect Sam and his team have for the Cambodian people and their culture—they ensure that tourism enriches rather than exploits the community. Cambodia is an amazing land to see by bike!!! Thank you for the good carePosted on MB100BxllsVerified Amazing self-guided bike tour in Cambodia! Just completed an amazing self-guided bespoke ebike tour with Merry Travel/Cambodia bikes. We are both 60 plus regular cyclists who normally travel ourselves, however with little planning time and this being our first visit to the region sought local guidance. So glad we did. The planning, which was initially done through Mr Biker Saigon, as we were doing similar tours in Vietnam, was seamless and provided for a more interesting tour than had we planned it ourselves. We provided a rough 'request list' and timings and they proposed routes incorporating several additional activities including trekking, kayaking and dolphin watching. Routes were provided on Bike with GPS and also a list of accommodation. All of which were in interesting places and local commmunity orientated, which we liked. The routes, which were generally on quiet and always interesting side roads and often gravel tracks - took us through amazing countryside, small villages and finally on a beautiful journey following the Mekong into Phnom Penh. We also had a vehicle which loosely followed us and our driver Makara - himself a cyclist - supported us with everything from transfers, bike maintenance when needed and interpretation. He also found us some nice coffee and food stops!! Overall a fantastic adventure. We loved the space and adventure afforded by self-guiding, but with the excellent backup support provided by Sam at Merry Travel and Makara throughout the journey. Thank-you!Posted on Joanne GVerified Best bike trip ever in Vietnam and Cambodia !!! we had a wonderful trip with Cambodia cycling tour ; Southern Vietnam and then to Siem Reap . Sam did a great job planning this trip; it was a perfect balance of biking and cultural experiences and lots of fun . Our guides and crew in both countries were amazing ; knowledgeable and always helpful and went beyond our expectations to create and unforgeratble experience . Everyone was so welcoming and cant say enough about the food !! We really appreciated eating in local places . The hotels were nicer then we usually stay and the pools were amazing Thanks to Merry travel and Cambodia cycling for the trip of a lifetime !!!Posted on Vicki MVerified Amazing experience. A group of friends spent 10 days with Merry travel cycling in Vietnam and Cambodia. It was the best trip I have ever had. We cycled thru neighborhoods in the Mekong delta. Our guide expertly provided insight and info. He was a perfect cycling guide adding a rich cultural experience as well as great biking.Posted on TrevVerified 5 stars out of 5. Everything was perfect. We did a tailor made cycle tour with Merry Travel. From our communication with Sam, through to the actual tour with Zil and 'T', everything was brilliant. Sam listened to what we wanted to do, the sport of places we wanted to stay and organised everything from beginning to end. We didn't want to use tourist style chain hotels, and Sam found wonderful smaller locally run hotels. Perfect for us. Zil, our cycle guide and 'T', our driver couldn't have been better. All the places we stopped for lunch and snacks were just great. Just when we thought we couldn't cycle any further, 'T' appeared out of nowhere with fresh fruit, cold water and cold towels. Absolutely fabulous.
